GRIT
Someone sent this to me not too long ago. Angela Lee Duckworth speaking on "grit" being a common factor within successful people.
Interesting video. She states:
"Grit is passion and perseverance for very long term goals. Sticking with your future day in and day out - even for years and working hard to make that future a reality."
Ironically this would appear to require patience, which if you have read my Trust article you will see I don't relate patience to success; but I do believe that this theory goes beyond the "keep your head down, work hard, and great things will happen" type of thinking.
I believe this to go back to the "trust theory", within this argument is the idea of what we might perceive as patience is instead something entirely different. Instead, this image of patience is just the reflective version of what is in fact a great deal of trust someone has put into their "plan". Whether that be a 5 year or a 10 year plan- this module fits. Even if you are reading this and thinking "I have this 'grit' but I don't necessarily have this great detailed plan" that is fine- what I relate this to is the amount of TRUST someone has put within them selves or their actions to know that they are going to get exactly what it is they want.
